~ Directions ~

We are three and a half hours from Dublin (140 miles); one hour from Cork (36 miles); two and a half
hours from Rosslare (93 miles); two hours from Limerick and four hours from Galway.

From Dublin: Follow sign posts for "The South" or Limerick or Cork (if you can
actually see a signpost for Cork!). This means taking the N7 and M7 towards Port Laoise - which is by-passed.
(Important: Unless you plan on visiting Kilkenny or Waterford city on the way, do not take the N9/M9.
Although we are in County Waterford, we are situated closer to Cork city
than to Waterford city).
Leave the M7 at junction 17, then at roundabout take the 1st exit onto the
N8 (signposted Cork). Continue forward onto the N8 Entering Abbeyleix
and then Durrow. You will now see signs for the new M8 motorway (Cork).
Take the M8 and exit at Fermoy.
Continue forward onto Dublin Road - R639 Entering Fermoy.
In the center of the town, at traffic signals turn left onto
Patrick Street - N72 (signposted Waterford) following N72 for
approximately 18 kms to the junction at Tallow Hill.
Turn left up a steep hill opposite the Brideview Bar and Bistro
(sign for Lismore) At the top of the hill, take a left. You are now back
on the N72. Go around a sharp bend and take the second turn left
for Glencairn. Continue to the end of this road and take a left at the
junction. You will see the house directly opposite the junction, beside the
entrance to St. Mary's Abbey.

From Lismore: Take the Tallow road (i.e. turn right at the monument, after the castle) and just
outside Lismore, there is a Car Sales showroom called Hornibrooks. Take the right turn-off here for
Glencairn, we're just 2 miles from this point, on the right, just after a junction.

From Cork Airport: At the roundabout just outside the airport turn left for Cork, as signposted.
You're now heading towards the Kinsale roundabout. It is about 3 miles from the airport.
Use the middle lane as you enter the roundabout, although you're looking for the fourth
exit.
That's the exit after the "City Centre" exit and it's signposted "N25 (EAST) (N8, N20, N28)
Rosslare, Waterford, Dublin
". It heads east out of the city towards Waterford (and us!).

A few miles further along the N25 you will enter the "Jack Lynch" tunnel which brings you
under the river Lee and out onto another large but more sensible roundabout - the
Dunkettle Interchange, so use the middle lane here, initially - you want to take the
"Dublin/Fermoy" (second) exit (N8). Continue forward onto the M8 (signposted Dublin).
You will pass through a toll plaza, currently 1.90 euros for a car to get through.

Leave the M8 at junction 15, then at roundabout take the 1st exit onto the R639
(signposted Fermoy). Continue forward onto Cork Road - R639 Entering Fermoy.

At traffic signals continue forward onto Patrick Street - N72 (signposted Waterford).
Turn left and head out of Fermoy following N72 for approximately 18 kms to the junction at Tallow Hill.
Turn left (signposted Lismore) up a steep hill opposite the Brideview Bar and Bistro.
At the top of the hill, take a left. You are now back on the N72.
Go around a sharp bend and take the second turn left for Glencairn.
Continue to the end of this road and take a left at the junction.
You will see the house directly opposite the junction,
beside the entrance to St. Mary's Abbey.

From Rosslare: Follow signposts for Waterford/Cork, then Dungarvan/Cork (N25), as you
approach Dungarvan there is a turn off for Cappoquin/Lismore/Killarney (N72). Follow this
road through to Cappoquin and onto Lismore. See above for directions from Lismore.
